In some bars, restaurants, and clubs — particularly in nightlife districts — your bill includes charges that were never disclosed: 'ice charge' (100-300 THB), 'table charge' (200-500 THB), 'cleaning fee,' 'service charge' (10-15%), or 'music charge.' These charges are not listed on the menu or displayed anywhere visible. They appear only on the final bill. Some establishments deliberately make the menu prices seem reasonable to attract customers, then pad the bill with these additions. While a 10% service charge is standard at upscale restaurants and should be shown on the menu, invented fees at bars are a scam.
