About ThaiSafe

Community-driven safety intelligence for tourists visiting Thailand. Real-time data across 15 regions, verified by travelers and moderated by our team.

Our Mission

Thailand welcomes over 30 million international visitors annually. While it is one of the world's most popular destinations, tourists face real risks: motorbike accidents are the number one cause of tourist injury and death, beach drownings claim lives every season, and tourist-targeted scams cost travelers millions of baht each year. ThaiSafe exists to reduce these numbers through accessible, real-time safety information.

Data Sources & Methodology

Official Sources

  • Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) safety advisories
  • Royal Thai Police crime statistics and tourist police reports
  • Thai Meteorological Department weather warnings
  • Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (beach flags)
  • International embassy travel advisories (US, UK, AU, EU)

Community Reports

Every community-submitted report goes through a multi-step verification process: automated content moderation, geographic validation, cross-referencing with existing reports, and manual review by trained moderators. Reports are categorized by type, severity, and location, then aggregated into our regional safety scores.

News Integration

We aggregate safety-relevant news from Bangkok Post, The Thaiger, Pattaya News, Chiang Rai Times, and Khaosod English. Articles are processed with AI summarization and categorized by region and safety topic for quick reference.
